Storytelling Sojourn with
Bestselling Author Jamie Ford

May 12-18, 2024
Gironde, France

A week of creative grandeur with seven fellow writers at a magnificent Château in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards.

Each morning we’ll gather for three hours in one of the castle’s magnificent rooms, or poolside, to workshop beginning chapters, opening scenes, and examine the types of contracts we make with readers on page one. We’ll discuss writing vs. storytelling, ways of immersing the reader, and how to bank and spend emotional currency. Each participant will also have a half-hour private session. All genres are welcome in this generative workshop.

When not reading or writing, we’ll tour the château’s vineyard and enjoy a private tasting. We’ll also tour the Citadel of Blaye, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also rest, rejuvenate, and enjoy Tai Chi by the pool.
